Eight men have been charged with sex crimes after a sting operation during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
The arrests were made after a sex trafficking operation between Aug. Attorney's Office. Homeland Security Investigations.
According to court federal documents, Goodwill talked with an undercover agent in a chatroom on Aug. When he was arrested in that incident, he had also been communicating with another agent posing as a year-old on a different chatroom platform. According to court federal documents, Hopkins, who was in town from Pennsylvania for the Sturgis Rally, conversed with an agent posing as a year-old girl.
After connecting in SKOUT, a social networking site, Hopkins over text explained how he would have sex with the girl, according to the federal complaint.
Hudson had started a conversation with an undercover agent over the dating site Adam4Adam, according to court documents. He told the agent, posing as a year-old, he would bring alcohol in exchange for sex, according to the federal complaint. McDonald chatted with an agent posing as a year-old on MeetMe, according to a federal complaint.
He was arrested at an agreed upon meeting site after describing sex acts he wanted in the chat, according to court documents. Riley conversed with an agent posing as a year-old on Craigslist, according to federal court papers. He asked for photos and said he wanted to have sex with the year-old persona, according to a federal complaint. He acknowledged that he could get in trouble for having sex with a minor and "acknowledged being her grandfather's age," according to the complaint. According to court documents, Clements had conversed with an agent posing as a year-old who would perform sex acts for money to give to her "man," meaning pimp.
Harrison messaged an agent posing as a year-old on Craigslist and said he was interested in sex, according to the federal complaint. He acknowledged he knew he would get in trouble if caught having sex with a minor.
Harrison referred to a "sting" multiple times and explained to her that, "law enforcement tried catching the guys trying to expletive you cause like the whole it would be sexual conduct with a minor that's illegals lol," according to the federal complaint. Truax matched with an agent posing as a year-old on the dating application Tinder, according to federal court documents.
Truax made comments about having sex with the year-old and made comments that appeared to attempt to "groom the minor," a process to build trust with a victim in order to get them to engage in a sex act. He agreed to meet up with the minor.
During his arrest, law enforcement found Truax had made up a bed in the back of his car and that he had a loaded 9mm gun, "many knives," a penis pump and several condoms. reporter Danielle Ferguson at dbferguson argusleader.
